Attending online seminars
This is a 2-hour session planned, prepared, presented by British Council Turkey. It is about climate change awareness and technological solutions. This workshop is a great opportunity for me because this weak I thought of opening a club about global worming. I will attend the seminar to see what experts say on this topic. I believe this will be helpful for me and my knowledge and perception. Additionally, I hope these seminars will continue because we have so many things to learn from the experts.
Competing in online contests
I got a mail about an art competition about refugees with sports. At first, I was shocked because I did not know why they were sending this email. However, on second thought I realised it would be great for me if I attended. My art is not that good but in the instructions, it says you do not have to be talented to be a part of this competition, if you are interested you are more than welcome. So I decided to give it a shot. I hope I will perform my best through my art journey.
Learning many things on an app called Freerice while donating grains of rice
This application aims to gain grains of rice from the players for people who are pinned. In this application, there are some genres and games. These games are for us to learn some new things and improve ourselves. I play the English word to improve my English and also help more people. I aim to play the game every day to have more amount of rice. I will play for ten minutes every day and if I play with different genres like maths or French, I gain more rice grains, so my primary aim is to have grains of rice rather than improve myself.
Creating/ joining social organisations
International Students Organization For Women’s Rights was formed to raise awareness about gender equality and the importance of women’s rights, through youth involvement. We aim to provide students with the opportunity to take action for gender equality and help achieve women’s human rights worldwide through community changing projects. The organization is composed of three teams: communications team, creative team, and media team. Each team will have different responsibilities and functions within the organization.
The communications team will be responsible for managing social media platforms, public relations, contacting organizations, accepting new members, and coordinating the members. The creative team will be responsible for working on the creation and coordination of community changing projects that align with our mission. The media team will be responsible for creating content for our website and social media platforms, as well as constructing and managing our website. Once the applications are made, one applicant from each team will be elected as the leader. Each team member will be able to concentrate on a particular task of the team, to maintain the most efficient collaborative work while still encouraging the students to work in the field that they are interested in and passionate about. In addition, students can become a member of multiple teams if they are interested in each component of the organization. Everyone is welcome to join. We hope that you are interested and eager to join our organization! If you have any questions you can contact us via our email address or our phone number. A classmate of mine created and thought of this project whıch excited me. I will be helping women and also enhance my inspirational knowledge. But it may be hard since our exams are coming but I believe I will balance everything.
5.Designing websites for conferences/ events
I designed and published the website of the Namun 2020 conference under namun20.com domain. My main goal is to reach the pageviews of namun20.com to 50,000 monthly (40,000 pageviews currently according to Google Analytics data). The other goal is to build and develop the website as simple and user-friendly as much as I can. While constructing the website, my HTML, JavaScript and CSS coding skills improved.
Learning new languages
While I was improving my French from Duolingo, I saw that Hawaiian was an endangered language around the world. This made me sad because I always wanted to visit Hawaii and I am very curious about their language. I will start studying today but years ago, I watched a video about the hardship and difficulty of the language. Therefore, I am scared but I believe if I try my best and study for 10 minutes every day, I will obtain the perfect Hawaiian. With this experience, I will get a chance to challenge myself and consider my actions. Additionally, since Hawaiian is an endangered language, this is a great chance for me to be a part of the preservers of the language.
Having online clubs
This is an online photography club.
We as IB students in the Nesibe Aydın Schools have been having hard times coping with online education. Therefore we wanted to find a hobby to cure our boredom and enhance our creativity. As students who are taking visual arts classes, we learnt how to take and analyse photographs. We thought that learning these techniques were a great opportunity for us to not only improve our artistry but also an amazing way to strengthen our photography skills. With this new knowledge that we have acquired, we gained a new hobby. As friends, we thought about developing this hobby of ours and making it more productive. Therefore, we ought to open an online photography club and socialize with new people that share the same interest as us. In this club, our main aim is to exchange our knowledge and ideas for photographs. Twice a month there will be a new theme which will be decided according to the circumstances of the members. Each member will take three pictures that are appropriate and accurate for the theme that has been elected. The deadline for the pictures will be two weeks from the theme decision which will allow the member a significant amount of time to fully capture the moments. At the end of the month, the photographs that are taken by the members will be analysed at Zoom meetings. During the meetings, members will choose their best picture for the online exhibition. By doing these meetings we will gain new perceptions and perspectives about photography. With this online club, we will be reflective, knowledgeable, and communicative thinkers. We hope that many IB students will have alacrity in this project and take action. We will open our applications worldwide and talk about some common topics around the world and afterwards take their picture.
IBuddies project (international IB students talking with each other)
As IB students from Turkey, our objective is to help IB students from all around the world to get in touch with each other. In these challenging times, sharing experiences and receiving support is so important to us. Depending on participants' answers, classes, and interests, which they specify on our google forms, we paired them up with another IB student for them to share their experiences, struggles, and support each other.

Attending MUN conferences
We are organizing a Model United Nations conference in our school for the 9th time this year. We will focus on real-world problems in our committees. As IB students we have been planning this conference since August and therefore, we have made a lot of progress and learned a lot through this process. Our aim is to spread the focuses of our conference to everyone.
